This week, Jon Caramanica went to the newly-renovated Armani on Madison Avenue, or, "the rich man's Gap." He says the store is "in essence a mall shop on Madison, accessible and not imposing, among the most ambitiously scaled and most breathable spaces on the strip." But not too accessible. He continues: "Armani understands that someone who yachts one day might be on safari another, or at least it isn't much concerned with people who don't do either." If you're in the market for an outfit that would suit either, Caramanica spotted a rustic white blazer for $1,745 that was "imperfect in all the right ways." [NYT]
