Later this month, the Nomad Hotel will soft-open down the block from the Ace Hotel at 28th and Broadway. HotelChatter reports that the two hotels won't be competitors—the Nomad is aiming at a higher-end, less hipster-y demographic. Still, it seems safe to expect some friendly rivalry between the in-house boutiques. Where the Ace has Opening Ceremony and Project No. 8, the Nomad will feature a 1,000-square-foot boutique from French fashion and music label Maison Kitsuné. (France seems to be a theme here; the hotel's rooms were inspired by Paris flats.)
The brand's website describes the store as "an engaging experience in fashion, music, design and lifestyle," which is sort of vague. What we do know: The spring 2012 collection is pretty cute. Looks like it's time once again to update the French Invasion list.
