Every year, GQ hands out awards for the Best New Menswear Designers in the country. This year's crop has a decidedly New York focus. Both BLK DNM and Saturdays maintain stores downtown—actually, within a few blocks of each other. The twin brothers behind Ovadia & Sons grew up in Brooklyn. And the other winners—Ian Velardi, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, and Todd Snyder—all have local connections.
