Cyndi Lauper and Tavi Gevinson Star in Uniqlo's New Campaign

And the award for most unusual combination of celebrities in an ad campaign goes Uniqlo, which has tapped tiny blogging powerhouse Tavi Gevinson and '80s singing powerhouse Cyndi Lauper to show off their spring collection. Gevinson and Lauper are both wearing tops from the Orla Kiely collab and brightly colored spring bottoms, which you can now buy in seven different colors around Manhattan.

And speaking of that Orla Kiely line, which we highlighted this morning, the brand just announced a styling contest with Kiely pieces as prizes. How it works: The Fifth Avenue Uniqlo now contain a special Orla Kiely room on the third floor. Take a "digital postcard" of yourself there, add a comment about how to make patterns a part of your personal style, and tag yourself on Facebook and Twitter before this coming Sunday.

Specially designated Uniqlo judges will announce their favorite postcard on Monday, and the winner will walk away with an Orla Kiely handbag and tea set. One note: You do have to be able to retrieve your prize in person from the Orla Kiely shop at 5 Mercer Street, so this is one online contest that works best for locals.

Update: We've received new information from Uniqlo about how the contest will be run. Here's their description of the rules:

This evening Uniqlo will be posting Orla Kiely–themed photos on their Facebook page where participants can tag themselves and post a comment that expresses their favorite way to incorporate quirky patterns into their personal style. Uniqlo fans don’t have to go to the store to participate but simply visit the company’s Facebook page to comment on the Orla Kiely themed images. Winners will still be announced Monday and must be able to pick up their prize at the Orla Kiely boutique at 5 Mercer Street.
