The Scoop Sale Meets All Your Last-Minute Winter Needs

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We stopped by Scoop's Ultimate Closet Clean-Out Sale (it's like the Warehouse Sale but with more syllables) expecting a ravaged scene. Instead we found a very neat 90% off, or rather another 50% off already marked down tags, Helmut Lang, Phillip Lim 3.1, DVF, Carven, Chloé, Alice + Olivia, Jimmy Choo, and more. All we can say is this is not a drill. Go now.

The top floor sports a wall of bags and a wall of sweaters. There are only a handful of bags to be had but the price is right for most of them, going as low as $20. The real finds on the top floor are the four racks of dresses, coats, skirts, and shirts. Some all-stars in the simple and chic department are a white Phillip Lim lapeled number for $154.50 (down from $575.00) and a Chloé cap sleeved white dress for $119.50. If you're looking to stand out a little more check out the lace "Mademoiselle" dress by Lover for $289.50.

Other great picks include Gryphon's single button coat with a golden fur panel around the bottom half for $194.50 (down from over $600), a cropped llama wool sweater dyed red by Zero + Maria Cornejo for $374.50, and a sleeveless Missoni dress for $384 (down from $1285). Also, we love the artistically printed Cacharel skirt (are they flowers? Are they product of a paint fight gone wrong? Gone right?) for $139.50 (down from $695).

Down the stairs you'll find the shoes, accessories, some resort wear, more sweaters and dresses, and the men's section. One sales associate noted that designer shoes were de-shelving most quickly, which is totally understandably thanks to insane pricing. There were snake skin heels by Jimmy Choo for $189 (down from $645), Matt Bernson booties for about $90, and Rag & Bone clogs for $50. We're pretty sure they planted one pair of Burberry boots—complete with rubber soles perfect for schlepping through snow plus fur lining—just to mock us. We're having trouble remembering what white winters look like. Sort of.

Some highlights from the lower floor include a soft pink Kaelen tank for $100 and a $149.50 Alice + Olivia sequined shift. We also found quite a few breezy tops for around $70. Finally, the piles of scarves, belts, ties, undergarments, and bathing suits sit in buckets in no particular order. Here, a Topsecret bandeau bra will run you $15 (down from $38). As far as men's goes, Shophound spent some time with men's section this morning and had this to say about it. Far from glowing commentary indeed.

The good news is the sale receives a mix of new pieces and new sizes daily, so if you miss out today, you can head there tomorrow, and the next day, until February 20th at 9pm. Who knows? This February could prove to be more harrowing than a pretty weak January and you can finally talk yourself into buying that Helmut Lang/ DFV/ Missoni coat.
