Bedford Avenue's Jumelle is not a very large store, but we've heard great things about their latest closet-cleaning sample sale, so we moseyed on over to Williamsburg to check it out for you. The stock is pretty small for a sale, but the space is no warehouse and that doesn't mean that the selection isn't impressive. We weren't the only ones to think so either; we found the store pretty packed for a Friday afternoon.
What's on sale: a lot of sweaters and tunics, including merchandise from Correll Correll, A Détacher, and Isabel Marant. Prices are marked as is, and there will not be any more markdowns, nor any more merchandise. If you do some digging, there are some good deals, including Alexander Wang pieces like a cardigan for $75 and a pair of Sonia Rykiel tailored pants for $135 (originally $398). Other brands we came across included Rachel Comey (a jacket was $300), Raquel Allegra, Mayle, and Mociun.
There is a small sample of shoes as well. We liked a pair of Dieppa Restrepo lace-up boots for $180 (originally $360). The bins marked $25 and $50 were a bit of a disappointment, but we imagine that most of the good stuff was gone early, as the sale ends on Monday.
