The JackThreads Shop on Wheels Doesn't Have Any Wheels

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

First, the bad news: The pop-up truck from Thrillist's online shopping club JackThreads is more like a shipping container, which means we have to stop referring to it as a "shop on wheels." And now, the good news: Nobody was in it for the wheels. The mobile store carries pieces from brands like WeSC, GoodWood, Timex, and New Era, all arranged into five spring looks.

Shoppers can try on everything in-store, and if they decide to buy on the spot, they'll get free JackThreads shipping plus a gratis beard-and-mustache trimmer from sponsor Gillette. If they want to mull things over a little, that's OK too. The pop-up only lasts today and tomorrow from noon to 8pm, but on Sunday, February 19, the merchandise will appear online.

You can find the truck on the west side of Union Square between 16th and 17th Streets. Extra perk: If you win their Polaroid contest, you could walk home with the look of your choice.
