Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Jeremy Scott's pop-up boutique launched yesterday in Hell's Kitchen and will be open for two weeks only, until the 26th. The store is totally kray and definitely worth stopping by. We found all kinds of goodies in all kinds of whimsical prints, from planets to telephones, as well as tanks made to look like "I love NY" take-out bags. This store has the friendliest staff (they even have Heineken stashed downstairs) and great music, providing a nice breather from the crowded tents.
Currently this is the only location that carries the spring 2012 collection, although the pieces will be hitting stores everywhere starting next week. The pop-up is also the only place to also carry some very special archived pieces, dating back to 2006 and include items you'll recognize from Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video. The line starts around $100, with the past season pieces extending to $1,000.
Oh, and we almost forgot to mention the Adidas x Jeremy Scott Wings kicks. Snag a pair of those for about $300, and you're bound to be photographed outside Lincoln Center. And remember: You can actually meet the designer himself tomorrow from 3pm to 5pm at the Adidas Originals store in Soho.—Danielle Desmond
