The first day of the Marchesa sample sale began this morning, and the blogger New York à la Keiko stopped by to survey the scene. She writes that the dresses are going fast, which include cocktail numbers priced at just $100. However, sizes are beginning to dwindle: though she spotted some 0s, 2s, and 4s in the fitting rooms, the racks were all filled with larger sizes.
Notte by Marchesa gowns start at $150, and couture gowns are priced under $1,000, though one was sold today for $1,200. Clutches and handbags, which were also plentiful, range in price from around $300 to $750. The sale runs through Thursday, and despite being billed as "Friends and Family," they weren't checking invites earlier.
