Everything's Going Fast at the Creatures of Comfort Sale

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We dropped by the Creatures of Comfort sample sale this afternoon, and suggest heading over ASAP if you're planning to go. (Thankfully, the lines are not an issue this year, like they were this spring.) By the time we left the sale, most of the standout outerwear had already been snatched up. The staffers mentioned, however, that they're holding some items for tomorrow, but that most of the clothing, shoes, and accessories are already out on the floor—and they're going fast.

A third of the sale is dedicated to footwear, from brands such as Dieppa Restrepo, Rachel Comey, Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, Zucca, and Isabel Marant. Since the Rachel Comey sale is happening just a few blocks away, let's start there. We found the Dekalb sequin navy heels priced at $135, the Huron boot in tobacco for $128, and the Trace loafers in sand for $110. If seasonal shoes aren't your thing, we also spotted some sandals.

The Dieppa Restrepo Laura oxfords in white leather and metallic gold caught our attention when we first entered the sale, and they're both marked down to $120 from $240. Hidden under the table are a pair of Lady boots in white patent leather, and a pair of Camilla booties in emerald crocodile for $150. The Dylan shoes in neon are $120, and we found the Coca Colo loafers in python, pulp, light grey patent leather, and black-and-white deco.

Other highlights in the shoe department include the Isabel Marant cork wedges in black for $183 (from $610).

As for the ready-to-wear, there are plastic bins near the front of the sale where tops and tanks are priced at just $15. There were also Creatures of Comfort tops for $25, and dresses for $35. The outerwear selection include one Wood Wood puffer, and a few trenches. We spotted a few great striped Wren sweaters, and patent leather trimmed jeans from Etoile Isabel Marant for $108.

A handful for silk VPL tops are marked down from $300 to $90, and the buckets of intimate apparel from brands like The Lake & Stars are located right underneath a rack of totes.

Just like the last sale, there isn't much men's merchandise to check out. Sorry, guys: The offerings are composed of just one rack near the checkout. We found a Wood Wood parka for $365 (from $710), and a windbreaker for $43 ($215). Button-downs by the Japanese label Arts & Science are $65, and we spotted a few pairs of Norse Projects jeans.

The sale is open until 7pm tonight, and runs from 11am—7pm tomorrow. For additional info, see the dealfeed below. If you don't get your fill here, there are still three other hipster sample sales to check out this week—or as one of our commenters pointed out yesterday, four once you add Aloha Rag.—Naomi Collett Ritz
