Earlier this fall, rumors began circulating that Moscot would be leaving its longtime home at 118 Orchard Street. (And when we say longtime, we mean a whopping seventy-seven years longtime.) It turns out that those rumors were true, however they're not as dire as they sound.
A press release clarifies that the store will be relocating from one corner or Orchard and Delancey to the another corner of Orchard and Delancey. The building that housed their original location as been sold, so they've decided to just move across the street—which should make transporting all those signs a lot easier.
The company also assures that the interior of the new spot will look a lot like the old, with the same "historical tchotchkes and treasures [that have been] accumulated over the past eight decades." The store will also include the Moscot Gallery & Music Space, along with all sorts of Moscot memorabilia and, of course, plenty of eye glasses.
