Shoes at the last Rachel Comey sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This week's sample sale roster doesn't just include DVF and Tory Burch. While those continue to get pillaged above 14th Street, four very different sample sales will soon begin downtown. And since you'll be able to find Rachel Comey at three of them, that officially means this is the week of hipster sample sales.

Tomorrow, the Creatures of Comfort and Rachel Comey sales will open within three blocks of each other. The Loeffler Randall sale starts on Thursday, and on Friday, the granddaddy of them all—Opening Ceremony—will begin as well. Read on for an idea of what to expect from each, and feel free to place your best in the comments below which crowd will be dressed the best/craziest.

Creatures of Comfort:
Last spring's sale was intense to say the least. The markdowns were up to 95% off, though this time around the discount caps off at 80%. Women's merchandise reigned supreme, and there was only one small rack—filled mostly with A.P.C.—for guys. This time around, expect to find brands like Isabel Marant, Rachel Comey, Wren, The Lake & Stars, Lizzie Fortunato, Dieppa Restrepo, and more.
Starts Wednesday at 70-80 Kenmare Street [Dealfeed]

Rachel Comey
The markdowns at the brand's own sale aren't nearly as steep as those at Creatures of Comfort or Opening Ceremony. Here, prices will only drop 50% to 60% off. However, the selection of merchandise, which includes clothing, shoes, and accessories, will naturally be much more expansive, and there will be special deals on past season merchandise. At the previous sale in June, those were definitely the best bets.
Starts Wednesday at 268 Mulberry Street [Dealfeed]

Loeffler Randall:
You can count on Thursday's Loeffler Randall sale to be packed and, most likely, full of shoes you want to buy. At the sale in May, sandals started at $85, clogs were $125, and heels were around $200. Expect boots to be a little pricier than that; we're told the Sophie boot will be $300.
Starts Thursday at 525 Broadway [Dealfeed]

Opening Ceremony
Since OC skipped their summer sample sale, we're expecting this week's fall edition to be a doozy. Expect tons of merchandise from brands like Altuzarra, Band of Outsiders, Christopher Kane, Jean Paul Gaultier, Proenza Schouler, Rachel Comey, and Repetto, all packed into the racks. Last winter's sale involved tons of digging—if you don't have enough time for that, stick to the shoes.
Starts Friday at 76 Mercer Street [Dealfeed]
