New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Designer Monica Botkier is best known for her namesake line of handbags and accessories, which have graced the arms of celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Beyoncé, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, and Rihanna. A Fort Greene resident, she she spills on her favorite neighborhood shop that also inspires her designs at the same time.
Feliz is what I call a surprise shop, since everything is in the details and you never know what you'll find. For those "cool mommies," there are tiny metallic salt-water sandals for your toddler, or floral vine gold hoops for the "Brooklyn romantic." Everything is lovingly curated within the sweet small space. It's kind of a throwback shop of curiosities with a luxe twist. I always walk away inspired for hardware styles for my bags due to all the jewelry this shop houses. I'm thrilled to have such a gem in my hood.
