Origami at Rebecca Taylor; Park Slope's Poppy Is Almost Here

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

UPPER EAST SIDE—Currently, the Rebecca Taylor boutique on Madison Avenue is filled with large and small oragami birds. The brand collaborated with photographer and artist Elle Muliarchyk on the installation, which was inspired by the Swedish fairytale The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. In it, a little boy is shrunk by a gnome and then flies across Sweden on the backs of geese. [RackedWire]

PARK SLOPE—The Poppy boutique on Fifth Avenue may have missed its projected opening date of October 1st, but Here's Park Slope reports that the construction is just about complete: "The sidewalk shed has been removed, revealing an entirely new facade, the front window's got some signage, and they should be opening soon."
