Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In celebration of downtown retail on the Lower East Side, the East Village, and Nolita, 100 boutiques will offer deals and discounts during the Capsule Neighborhood Network shopping event tomorrow and Friday. Designer showrooms like Want Agency and Archetype will also participate through sample sales, and nearby restaurants and bars will offer special happy hours and prix fixe menus.
The boutiques involved will hand out printed maps, but head to the Capsule website ahead of time to plan out your route. Included are local favorites like Erica Weiner, Poppy, Epaulet, Pilgrim, Gargyle, Warm, Oak, and a ton more. One last thing: Each shop will also accept cash donations to benefit the Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief.
