The Museum at FIT just got accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. Three reasons this is a big deal: 1) It's a sign that somebody's paying attention to all the good work the museum has done recently, 2) it's awarded to less than 5% of the country's top museums, and 3) it's almost never given to museums associated with colleges or universities. Also, it will probably help the museum get more grants and funding. [DNAinfo]
