Suzanne Johnson, wife of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, is on a mission to make football more fashionable. About a year ago, she recruited Marchesa's Georgina Chapman to design a Jets-themed t-shirt, and starting today the fruits of that collaboration are available online at the New York Jets Shop.
Chapman, herself the wife of obsessive Jets fan Harvey Weinstein, came up with a design that's dripping with Swarovski crystals. As such, the top is slightly more expensive than your average fan tee (it retails for $110.) But it's still attracted attention from a range of other teams. Johnson tells Women's Wear Daily that she's been approached to set up similar collabs by the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Washington Redskins, the New Orleans Saints, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
