Movie Star News, one of the city's last remaining shrines to Bettie Page, may have closed shop this summer, but a new boutique is preparing to fill that void. The Las Vegas-based retailer Bettie Page Clothing has just signed a lease for a storefront at 303 Bowery, with plans to open sometime in November. (Unfortunately, they failed to capitalize on Halloween.)

The brand currently has ten stores nationwide, and specializes in retro dresses, high-waisted short shorts, and anything else a modern day pin up might need to get dressed in the morning. It's also worth noting that the store takes its schtick pretty seriously. Recently, the Planet Hollywood location hosted a meet and greet with another busty burlesque icon and former co-star of Page: the one and only Tempest Storm.
