Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
SOHO—This year, Pleats Please Issey Miyake turns twenty years old, and to commemorate that, they've opened up a Pleats Please Bakery inside their Wooster Street store. And by bakery, we mean that a special collection of pleated scarves, dresses, tanks, and arm warmers are currently on display, rolled up into the shapes of croissants and donuts. It's adorable, but if that's not enough for you, they're also having a sale, too. [RackedWire]
MURRAY HILL—In spite of haters and defacers, the drybar expansion-palooza continues tomorrow with the opening of its new Murray Hill salon at 222 East 34th Street. Next up? The Upper East Side location, which is scheduled for November 9th. [RackedWire]
Update: Drybar has just let us know that the opening date of the Upper East Side salon has been pushed back to the end of November. Uptowners will have to make do with the salon at the Le Parker Meridien Hotel.
