Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
This Thursday, Tretorn officially closes its sleek, sporty Soho store. The Swedish company has been keeping Spring Street stocked in tennis shoes and colorful rubber rain boots since June of 2008. Back in September, they held a major sale—possibly a way to get rid of excess inventory—but that doesn't mean they're disappearing entirely from the New York scene. You can still find the brand at Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and plenty of other small boutiques, as well as online on their website.
