After over a dozen years on Greene Street, La Perla recently packed up its lacey underthings and moved a few blocks to a new location on West Broadway. According to Jennifer Holmes, La Perla's director of retail, the company initially considered revamping its old space, but ultimately decided that relocating within Soho was a better way to get a fresh start. (There was never talk of leaving Soho entirely; it's too strong a market for the brand.)
The new space, which has been open for several weeks, takes up half of 434 Broadway, former home of D&G. Like the Greene Street spot, it's designed to feel like a boudoir, with an eye towards both La Perla's aesthetic and Soho's. To that end, it's got an open, lofty layout with white backdrops. Perks include private shopping appointments and a bridal concierge service—useful if you're looking to make your wedding night really memorable.
