Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

SOHO—We could have sworn Theyskens's Theory and Helmut Lang just had a sample sale, but it looks like another one is right around the corner. Gilt City is pitching early access to a sale of both brands (plus Theory!) at 93 Mercer Street on January 12. They're promising a "5,000-square-foot space full of merchandise," so it might be worth it to pay the $10 admission—or at least stop by when it opens to the public on the 13th. [Gilt City]

NEW YORK CITY—We're ringing in the New Year by updating the Racked 38, our list of crucial local shopping experiences. Got any stores we should absolutely add? Or, for that matter, any stores you think we should really kick off the list? Here's the most recent rundown; let us know your thoughts in the comments. There's only one rule: The shop has to have been open for more than six months. [Previously]
