To the delight of Brooklynites with poor eyesight, Manhattan eyewear staple Moscot announced a few months ago that it would be opening its first location outside of the city in Cobble Hill. According to the company's Facebook page, the shop is now just a few days away from opening. We had initially heard it was planning to bow before the holidays, but now it looks like the potential launch date is January 31.
They've also posted a photo or two of the current construction taking place inside, and from what we can see, the walls are very yellow. If you're in desperate need of eyewear sooner than the end of this month, though, Moscot has two other long-standing locations in the city: One on Orchard Street, and another on West 14th.
