The Next Barneys Warehouse Sale Will Begin February 16

Employees at the Chelsea Co-op have been telling shoppers that this winter's Barneys Warehouse Sale will kick off Thursday, February 16 and run through Sunday, February 26. Our inside sources verify those dates, so we're inclined to believe them, even though they suggest two very odd things about this latest sale.

First, this set-up means the New York sale will overlap with the one in LA, which reportedly runs February 10th through 21st. If those dates are accurate, then New York probably won't get any shipments from LA, which suggests less merchandise on this end. And secondly, the new schedule means the sale is only ten days long, or eight days shorter than last winter. There is some precedent for the truncated sale, however: Last summer's sale was a week shorter than usual, though the store wound up extending it two days after Hurricane Irene slowed business. Expect the Chelsea store to close around February 9th for preparations.
