When Filene's Basement announced its demise, there was a gaping, anticipatory hole in the Fulton Street Mall, as the discount chain was slated to occupy a spot in its expensive revamp. But fear not, because Fulton Street landlords have found a replacement: The Post reports that a new Century 21 might be on its way.
Sources says that a lease has been sent to Century 21 for a large, 10,000 100,000 square-foot store. As a refresher, rents on the strip can hit $200+ per square foot (upper floors are closer to $100), so according to the Post's math, signing Century 21 could be worth a whopping $4 million.
