If you're not someone who regularly pays $32 per class at SoulCycle for a hot and heavy spin session, then you might not be aware that there's currently a spin class rivalry going on between the chain and Flywheel Sports. With eight locations under its belt, Flywheel knows its competition, as founder Ruth Zukerman was one of SoulCycle's early pioneers.

The NYDN reports that despite mega gym Equinox's recent acquisition of SoulCycle, Flywheel plans to open plenty of locations to keep up. Company president Jay Galluzzo says, "There are many more butts than there are seats," which sounds like his way of saying a lot of people attend their classes. The celebrity portion of that includes Katie Couric, Sofia Vergara, Jimmy Fallon, and David Wright of the Mets.
