This week, Jon Caramanica reviews two vintage streetwear stores: Flight Club in Greenwich Village and Community 54 on the Lower East Side. This is a nostalgic assignment for him, as he is presumably the only current Style Section writer to own a Tommy Hilfiger hockey jersey worn by Ol' Dirty Bastard in a Mariah Carey video. He appreciates the mix of old-school and modern at Community 54, but it's Flight Club that really speaks to him. Shopping there, he writes, is "as close as I can come to shopping in my own teenage closet." [NYT]
