Yesterday, AllSaints kicked off its first-ever sample sale at 76 Wooster Street, and as expected, it was packed. Sample Sally stopped by last night and described the scene as such: "The line to the register appeared to be endless?and the shoppers who weren't waiting to pay were rummaging through racks and tables. The place was a mess." For a quick rundown of the layout, she reports that women's and kid's clothing are on the bottom level, men's and accessories are on the main floor, there are shoes for both sexes, and the discount is 70% off.
Sugar Rock Catwalk also swung by, but felt that despite the mounds and mounds of clothes, there wasn't that much worth grabbing. She says: "The sale had a feeling of being kind of picked over even though the racks were still full. Certain styles that didn't perform at retail were available in multiples but a lot of the more desirable styles were one-off type pieces without much hope of finding sizes."
As for what 70% off actually looks like, Sample Sally found cotton jackets for $105, wool jackets for $63, sweaters for $96, long-sleeved T-shirts for $22.50, and kid's polos for $10. Similarly, Sugar Rock Catwalk spotted a "tangle of tank tops" for $12 each, a bubble-hem beaded dress for $174, and brocade leather jackets for $165. If you're looking to buy a year's worth of denim, then this is the sale for you, as there is definitely a giant wall of jeans. For hours and all that, head here.
