This is what happened last night at Saks Fifth Avenue when friends-of-Racked Central Saint Martins MA Course Director Louise Wilson and Pringle Creative Director Alistair Carr—oh yeah, Tilda Swinton was there too—made a Fashion's Night Out PA at the brand's second-floor shop-in-shop: Swinton, Carr, and Wilson mixed and mingled with Pringle fans behind a velvet rope and Swinton posed for lots of photos. Yes, she is just as, if not more, tall and pale and stunning in person.
Afterwards, when Swinton, Carr, and Wilson were being bundled down the corridor, ensconced in a massive entourage of security personnel, publicists, and handlers, there was this total fashion moment. All of a sudden, a spotlight pierced crowd and, no joke, out of nowhere Anna Wintour materialized—we could hardly get near her, but we recognized her by her bob. Wintour posed for photographs with Swinton and Carr and the three exchanged pleasantries, or at least looked like they were. Then, just as quickly as she came, Wintour disappeared, back into the deepest depths of FNO. Swinton, Carr, and Wilson were, in turn, swept (by elevator) downstairs to the store's 50th Street entrance, where black cars came to take them back to the airport and back to London.
