If Wednesday night's press preview for Missoni x Target's pop-up shop was a madhouse, then last night's launch was a madhouse wrapped in a shitshow wrapped in a zig-zag striped comforter. It's safe to say Target has a hit on its hands—although we're not sure how many fans they won in last night's frenzy.
The Bryant Park pop-up opened at 6pm, but the line to get in formed hours earlier. Around 4pm yesterday, some 275 people were already lined up outside the space. A Sugar Rock Catwalk blogger reports waiting four hours before he got in, adding "Of all the lines at sample sales, restaurants, and everything else worth doing in NYC, this was by far the most insane." By the time he was admitted, the space had been ransacked. The second floor was so utterly empty that staffers shuttered it completely. His verdict: "Epic fail."
Update: The store has closed early.
