A Tight Fit at Christian Louboutin's FNO Celebration

Last night, Christian Louboutin hosted a Made Up For Ever lash bar and showed off two limited-edition styles: A bag and a heel. We arrived at 8:52pm. The windows were decorated with wigged-out mannequins in the style of Marie Antoinette, topped with sprinkles of Louboutin heels. There were four people in front of us at that point, but security was tight. A guard stood at the door.

Just a moment later, the guard let in some girls from the right side of the door. A girl in line commented, "I like how they have a separate line for the models." Two anxious French girls in front of us left the line in a fury after security refused to let them in. Finally, twenty minutes later, we were allowed in. The store was tiny and crowded. We were immediately overcome with claustrophobia.

A photobooth was stationed to the side in the middle of the store. A photographer took Polaroids of customers behind a large frame adorned with sparkly Louboutins. Each Polaroid was handed out in a special Louboutin FNO sleeve. The back of the store housed both the Make Up For Ever lash extension bar and a Frederic Fekkai hair salon. Ladies (and gents) took full advantage of the services. Even Johnny Weir got his makeup done. We missed him, though. The claustrophobia was a bit too much for us.—Katherine Park
