Fashions Night Opting Out

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Writes an astute reader: "Kind of surprised that Racked is not reporting on who has decided to largely bow out of FNO this year—Barneys. The night is barely even mentioned on their website. And as far as I know, they will have extended hours, but that's pretty much it—no free drinks, celebs, or events." Here's the deal: Back in August, Barneys announced via press release that it would forgo the usual ping pong and karaoke to focus its FNO efforts entirely on commemorating 9/11. The company will donate 10% of Madison Avenue and online sales to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. [Racked Comments]
