The early bird might get the worm, but those attending the Barneys Warehouse Sale on the last day get the severely marked down worm. And by worm, we mean handbags. And by handbags, we mean Alexander Wang square trunk minis in white (the remaining sixteen metallic versions were on the checkout counter by 4pm yesterday). We suggest you go now.
If you've held out to the last day, 60% marked-down hats off to you for that kind of self-control, as well as plenty of shoes. Some of the remaining standouts include Lanvin platform sandals, Derek Lam ankle boots, white Carven back bow-tie pumps, and a couple of very ornate Nicholas Kirkwood x Rodarte gold wedges.
While the Co-Op brand still reigns supreme quantity-wise for both women's shoes and ready-to-wear, an Altuzarra wine colored velvet blazer, a Proenza Schouler terry tweed skirt, and a little black and beige draped number by Alexander Wang remain buried in the racks. (And if you're absolutely crazy for Alexander Wang, there are quite a few black onesies left for your napping pleasure.)
Take a trip downstairs to the men's floor and the sale is just as hectic, but there's quite a bit to choose from. Highlights include Deth Killers of Bushwick t-shirts, Rodarte for Opening Ceremony, and 3.1 Phillip Lim tailored pants along with the expected blazers and button-downs.
Mostly the "whatever's left" mentality has taken over at the Warehouse Sale, so go into these last hours expecting to do a lot of wading through the manhandled and mangled. But with markdowns at 50% to 75% off (see the full list in the gallery), there has never been a better reason to finally learn how to sew.—Kenzie Bryant
