THE LOWER EAST SIDE—The Sweden-based digital media school Hyper Island is moving out of its Orchard Street space, which means next-door neighbor By Robert James might expand. EVERYWHERE—Bag designer Joy Gryson does have a label called Olivia Harris by Joy Gryson, but she's not the woman behind the handbag collection Olivia & Joy. Yesterday, Gryson's PR sent out an email blast highlighting the difference with a note that reads, in part, "Due to such similar brand naming, there has been a lot of confusion in the marketplace that Olivia & Joy is a new brand by Joy Gryson. It is not. There is NO affiliation between the two brands." The bags do look an awful lot like Gryson creations, though. [Racked Inbox]
