Lately, the Meatpacking District has been moving away from single-brand high fashion stores, as shops likeStella McCartney give way to shops like Sephora. But the whimsical Italian label Marni will reverse the trend this October with a 2,500-square-foot store opening in the former home of Yohji Yamamoto on Gansevoort Street. Marni already has an Upper East Side location and one in Soho, but this will be the only Marni in the United States to carry the children's collection.
