Report from the Hermès Sale Preview: Few Bags, No Scarves

Madison Avenue Spy's sub-spies returned from yesterday's Hermès sale preview with nothing but bad news. The bag selection was limited to one lumpy Garden Party. The ties cost $111—same as last time, but we can remember an era when they didn't cross the $100 line. As for the scarves: There aren't any. Maybe Soiffer Haskin decided to defy all laws of fashion hierarchy and save them for the public sale today, but don't hold your breath.

What the sale does offer, according to Madison Avenue Spy, is shoes for 40% off and jewelry for 50% off. But even those are tainted, because it seems like the merchandise was marked up before getting a final discount price. Bottom line: That two-hour wait might just not be worth it.
