Who is Carlo Pazolini and what's he planning for 543 Broadway in Soho? Turns out that Pazolini is the fictional moniker of international fashion impresario Ilya Reznik, a Russian retailer headquartered in Moscow with shops in such far flung places as Azerbajain, Kazakhstan and Moldava (not to mention Milan and Magnitogorsk). This fall the brand is coming to America, with a Soho shop opposite Uniqlo opening for the holidays.
The Pazolini website displays video vignettes of fashionable young Italians, proving the power of proper footwear when trying to get the girl. The online catalog shows shoes and boots for for both men and women, along with an assorted collection of purses and such. The Pazolini fashion philosophy ponders the paths we choose, and contemplates the ever important question: "To stand out from the crowd or to just be a gray mouse?" That's something to think about as holiday shopping approaches.
