Since the West Village Jimmy Choo store opened today, we went to check it out for ourselves. While they didn't let us take pictures inside the store—we only got an exterior shot—we poked around a little to see just how "Forties boudoir" it really is. Now, we weren't around in the forties, so we could be wrong here, but we never realized the forties were so?modern? We found tons of paneled mirrors, shoes, lots of white, shoes, modern square crystal chandeliers, shoes, bags and other accessories, shoes—oh, did we mention the shoes?
As for the many other soon-to-open stores on Bleecker Street, they're all still under wraps. Maje on the corner of Bleecker and Bank and Sandro next door are both forecasting a fall 2011 opening (and someone has done some lovely editing on the exterior images). The Rugby between Perry and West 11th Streets and the Rugby between Charles and Perry Streets insist that they are "Coming Soon." And Jean-Michel Cazabat on Bleecker and West 10th is still forecasting a spring 2011 opening. Yeah, okay.—Lauren Budorick
