What Is Target Planning for Fashion Week, Exactly?

Fashion Week kicks off in exactly a month, which means it's too early for real news but prime time for gossipy speculation. What does J.Crew have up its madras sleeve? What does Kanye West have up his Celine sleeve? And most recently, what exactly is Target planning? The mega-retailer just started promoting a Tumblr "by" Marina, a fashion-obsessed doll with bendable joints who lives on a shelf somewhere in Italy. A few days ago, Marina wrote this on her blog:

OMG. Check it out. Remember I wondered if this could get any better? Well?.. I AM GOING TO NEW YORK CITY FOR FASHION WEEK! Yes, you read that correctly. Yes, be jealous. This doll is packing her oversized bags and jetting off to New York City. I can’t even wrap my porcelain head around it. The Target and Missoni partnership wants me, yes, your doll, to take my blog to NYC and continue blogging everything Missoni, Target and fashion from the style frontlines.

This wouldn't be the first time a doll appeared at NYFW—Jezebel's Sadie Stein toted one to the shows last September.
