Now that same-sex marriage is finally legal, Michael Kors is planning to tie the knot with his boyfriend Lance LePere. Life & Style reports that the couple appeared at City Hall on Wednesday to pick up a marriage license. Says the magazine's witness, "[Kors] was really nice and let the girls at the office take his picture." Kors later confirmed the news to WWD, adding that he's planning a private ceremony rather than a big party.

So who is this Lance LePere fellow? He's now a creative director at Michael Kors, but he started working for the company in Paris as an intern in 1990. Life & Style quotes him explaining how he went from apprentice to life partner: "Over the years and the day-to-day process of dreaming together, things just naturally fell into place."
