It's been a while since we've had a really good Williamsburg retail rumor, but today the New York Observer comes through for us with a potential bombshell in the making. Waterfront art space Monster Island is closing, and word on the street has it that Whole Foods will be taking over the space. Now, on the one hand, this sounds like classic fill-in-the-blanks gentrification gossip. But on the other hand, Whole Foods would certainly be less unlikely than Marshalls.
