Lululemon to Open Another UES Store, This Time on Madison Avenue

Yoga-loving, Canadian athletic brand Lululemon already has a store on Third Avenue at East 66th Street, but their website has announced that another Upper East Side location on Madison Avenue is "coming soon." Madison Avenue Spy reports that the new spot will be on Madison and 85th Street, in what once was a Banana Republic. She also notes that it's, of course, right by a gym: David Barton.

No word on when it will be opening, so it looks like it's going to be a mad dash to the Upper East Side between NYC's two trendy sports brands: the new Lululemon, or Gap's Athleta. Back in May, we had heard that Athleta was planning to open a location on 86th Street and Third Avenue, in addition to the new Upper West Side store, which would again put both companies quite close to each other. The heat is on!
