Forget about whether the MTA is back up to speed—let's talk about supermarkets. All three of the city's major gourmet grocery store chains were battered by hurricane-fearing crowds, but all three are now up and running. Whole Foods announced its return about an hour ago, as did Fairway. The city's Trader Joe's are also open. A staffer at the Union Square location tells us the shop is "95% back to normal," with the wine store already back to pre-Irene levels of merchandise.
