New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Fresh out of school, stylist Josh Liebman started out as an intern at Paper magazine before jumping coasts and setting up shop in Los Angeles. He signed with Opus Beauty and recently launched a custom denim line called Enhanced by JS, a move he decided to take after consulting for Gap's 1969 range. Now, he splits his time between LA and NYC, and when he ventures east, he heads to Chelsea's L'Armoire Du Styliste, an appointment-only shop with that caters to all the needs of a stylist. Their motto is "if we can make their job easier, they will come," and it certainly worked for Liebman.
L'Armoire du Styliste is a hidden gem on 20th Street for all Stylists. They are an affordable rental house that gives discounts for things like LOR's from magazines and celebrity PR firms. They can also provide you with access to things like LeBook and other tools of the trade. They carry some cutting-edge young New York designers such as thetwentyten and Hannah Marshall as well as some beautifully constructed couture pieces. They also carry accessories and shoes.
They're by appointment only, and the owner is a stylist herself (Beagy Zielinski) so she knows the stresses of the trade and does her best to work with you and around your budget. They're a wonderful resource for budgets both big and small, and though their space is pretty tiny as well, if you need unique, modern and chic avant-garde, pret-a-porter, or couture rentals, you found it in a big way.· L'Armoire Du Styliste [Official Site]
