With a few exceptions, August isn't a great month for shopping events—it's more about a trickling flow of end-of-summer sales. But tomorrow, seven different spaces around the city are hosting big, pilgrimage-worthy spending parties. Need jewelry? ("Need," in this case, is entirely relative.) Try Dannijo's two-hour-only event in the Meatpacking District for something bold and trendy, or hit up a sale from goth Chrishabana and friends in the East Village.
The Ace Hotel shindig from limited-edition site Of a Kind also includes plenty of accessories from the likes of Erica Weiner and Lizzie Fortunato, but it should also have clothes from cool designers like today's featured line Tucker. Of a Kind isn't women's-only, but it is pretty girly, so manlier men might want to check out the Onassis sale on Fifth and 35th ("manlier," again, being a relative term.)
Down in Tribeca, meanwhile, The Lake & Stars is offering up to 80% off their sexy-but-not-cheesy underwear. And over on the Lower East Side, the avant-gardists at Project No. 8 and the cool kids at Gargyle have teamed up on a dual sale for men and women.
