All those HeatTech offerings in the Columbus Circle Uniqlo pop-up were a pretty clear reminder that fall is around the corner. You know what that means: The Century 21 UWS should be opening its doors pretty soon. We took a stroll by to check on the progress and it looks like things are coming along according to schedule. The ratty brown paper coverings have been peeled away, revealing numerous wood shelves that will soon hold discounted designer goods and fire-engine red criss-crossing track lighting on the second floor. Inside and outside, an army of workers are steadily striving away to make the anticipated fall opening date. Hey, if they finish early, maybe they can head on over to the Apple Store to take care of that (literal) black mark that still remains on the glass-paneled facade.
UPDATE: Right on schedule. The Upper West Side Century 21 will officially open on September 22—just in time for the store's 50th anniversary. [The Cut]
