Yesterday around 6pm, a thief entered Marc Ecko's 23rd Street art gallery and walked off with a $100,000 painting. The print, by graffiti artist (and former Disney animator) KAWS, is a 1999 work featuring acrylic paint over a Calvin Klein ad starring Kate Moss. Footage from the building's elevator camera shows the culprit holding the rolled-up poster in one arm and staring directly into the lens. He's wearing a cap and sunglasses and has a mustache, so Runnin' Scared has dubbed him a "hipster or hipster-esque person." If you recognize him, call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or visit nypdcrimestoppers.com.
