The Vivienne Tam sample sale started yesterday, and our friends over at Sugar Rock Catwalk stopped by to take a look at what's up for grabs. Best news: They report that there's vintage archival samples on hand and that they start at a measly $30. Some of the items are from the '70s and '80s, and a lot of them are hand embroidered, coated in mesh or paper pieces, or even worked on by Tam herself. Prices for these guys range anywhere from the aforementioned $30 to $180.
They report that the sale wasn't too crowded on opening day, and that it's divided up into two rooms: One for the archival garments, and another for more recent stock. Prices are a little higher for the non-vintage items, with dresses from spring hovering around $180, others that are a little older for $120, and tops going for $80 to $90.
As usual, there are no fitting rooms, but large mirrors in each room are suitable enough for trying things on. Everything is marked "as is" on the archival goods, and Sugar Rock Catwalk says that most of the size 6s and up for this category have already sold out. Similarly, in regards to the more current merchandise, sizes 0 to 4 are "particularly abundant." For more images of what's left, head here.
