New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Alexander Caputo is a New York-based accessories designer who will be launching his namesake line of leather accessories, aptly titled Caputo & Co., this fall. His line marries American soul with Central American heart, and his design ethos is understated and classical, yet he always incorporates unique details to keep things fresh. While he does not have children of his own, this Chelsea clothing shop has been one of his most visited stores as of late, stocking up on Joan Jett and AC/DC tees and totes for his friends' newborn kids.
Lucky Wang in Chelsea is one of my favorite stores. All my girlfriends are finally getting married and having their children (I already have two godchildren), but I go to this store and always find the cutest gifts, especially their rock 'n' roll t-shirts for babies. Beyond their super chic wrapping, I can pick out an outfit and the best part is choosing the entire look. They are super friendly, and best of all, it's right around the corner from my apartment.
