Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Taking a page from our sister site Eater NY's Hottest Chefs contest, we're going to spend the month of July attempting to identify the sexiest person in New York City retail. Our winner can be male or female, store owner or sales associate, as long as it's someone the public encounters while shopping on a regular basis somewhere within the five boroughs.
Of course, we can't do this without your help. Are you hot? Do you want the world to know how hot you are? Do you want to see your store immortalized on the internet as a place of supreme hotness? Then send your picture and place of employment to tips@racked.com. Shoppers, feel free to nominate your favorite retail hotties as well.
The fine print: We're definitely not going to force anyone to participate—this is opt-in only. Also, we all know hotness is subjective, so personal style carries serious weight around these parts. Once we get enough nominees, we'll seed them and put them to a series of votes. The ultimate winner will receive glory, fame, and the title of Hottest Shopkeep 2011.
